Papandayan is active Indonesian volcano on the island of Java. Structure and the history of volcanic activity volcano Papandayan similar to the Mutnovsky volcano (South Kamchatka). In craters of the volcano was observed intensive fumarolic activity with the deposition of various sublimates. The authors studied the mineral composition of samples of volcanic rocks, modified processes fumarole activity. Were diagnosed minerals such as kaolinite, galotrihite, sulfur, anhydrite and chlorite. Special attention is paid pyrite – one of the most common minerals in Nature. It typomorphic characteristics are the indicator of the conditions of formation and peculiarities of mineral-forming environment. Mineralogical, geochemical and physico-chemical research methods made it possible to study the micromorphology and chemical composition of pyrite volcano Papandayan and associated minerals. For the first time were studied in details the peculiarities of pyrite volcano Papandayan On the typomorphic characteristics of pyrite volcano Papandayan (Indonesia) similar with pyrite of Mutnovsky volcano (South Kamchatka).
